Electronic Crossovers & Loudspeaker Management

FDS-366T OMNIDRIVE COMPACT plus

New V2.06 Firmware brings exciting new performance standards!

The one loudspeaker management system that really satisfies all your system requirements just got even better!. New V2.06 firmware introduces the first pro audio implementation of WHISEWORKS - NTM™* filter technology, which means that you can take your loudspeakers closer to their operating bandwidths without fear of over-excursion.

Find out all about the WHISEWORKS - Neville Thiele Method™ filters in the special area here, and if youre an FDS-366 user now, you can register to download your FREE firmware upgrade.

"The cleanest and clearest filters Ive heard to date"
Andy Dockerty, Adlib Audio, UK

One FDS-366 can drive a true stereo 3-way system, or 3 bi-amp outputs for monitors. Add more units and MIDI slave linking to make stereo 4, 5 and even 6-way systems.

Typical applications:
  • Stereo 3-way.
  • Stereo 2-way plus sub from input C.
  • Triple Bi-amp for stage monitors, with delay and EQ.
  • Dual tri-amp for stage monitors.
  • 96kHz Studio monitoring systems.
  • LCR Monitoring systems (post-production).
  • 6-way systems.
  • 4-way plus 2 full range outputs with separate delay and EQ.
  • 6-way Zoning ( full range outputs, giving delays, EQ and limiters on all zones )

WHISEWORKS - *NTM™ and WHISEWORKS - Neville Thiele Method™ are trademarks of Precision Audio Pty.Ltd

"The new filters allow me to put more power to the devices without fear of overload or over-excursion. Once adjusted, sounds better than standard filters. The system seemed louder and clearer. We were setting off alarms in the car park!"
Ferrit, Promix/Electrotec, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Other applications are also satisfied, such as zoning to six discrete areas using full range or band-restricted outputs. As a mono sum of all three inputs is available, the FDS-366 will find favour with LCR post-production monitoring systems where a mono sub output is required. A stereo AES/EBU digital input also means that the FDS-366 is an ideal product for studio monitoring applications.

BSS have incorporated the very latest digital technology and DSP algorithms to provide the COMPACT plus with a truly astonishing audio performance. The latest generation of 24-bit converters with carefully engineered support electronics provides a dynamic range in excess of 112dB (unweighted) without employing massaging techniques that could have side effects.

Using a 96kHz sample rate further enhances the sonic performance of the FDS-366. The advantages of this higher rate mean a more natural and open sound thanks to a 40kHz bandwidth and improved filter responses that are possible with the higher Nyquist frequency.

"The biggest step forward in digital crossover technology since Linkwitz-Riley"
Jerry Wing, Britannia Row Productions, UK

BSS Audio pioneered the use of dynamic equalisation on the DPR-901, a tool well known to engineers the world over. Essentially a way of compressing selected frequencies when the signal reaches a pre-set threshold, adding dynamic eq to every input and output on the FDS-366 provides the engineer with a way to control some of the non-linearities in drivers (such as 2" horns) and room resonances.

Two new facilities, the Alignment Assistant and Dynamic EQ, help to reduce setup time and enhance creativity.

The effects of non-identical delays between loudspeaker drivers in cabinets, and between cabinets are well known. The FDS-366s Alignment Assistant makes the calculation and implementation of driver delay settings quick and automatic. A microphone input directly measures and corrects for driver and cabinet displacement, and also takes into account inherent phase shifts present in these and other system elements.

Seriously Intelligent Digital Dynamic - XTA (ENGLAND) - DP-324
Click vào xem ảnh lớn
Model: DP-324
Nhãn hiệu: XTA

DP324 Features
Superb audio quality - carefully optimised double precision signal processing coupled with a 40-bit internal data path ensures a dynamic range in excess of 110dB. The high sampling rate means minimal filtering providing exceptional sonic purity.

A highly accurate 6 band parametric equaliser on each input, providing +15 to -30dB of gain at centre frequencies between 20Hz and 20kHz, with a wide range of Qs available between 0.4 to 128. All parameters feature fine resolution with 1/36 octave frequency steps, 0.1dB gain increments, and 100 Q settings. Any parametric section can also be set to operate as a high or low shelving filter.

A fully featured compressor with two bands of sidechain equalisation, and featuring variable knee and look-ahead delay for absolute control.
A delay line with separate A.D.T module that may be routed to the auxiliary outputs. This allows for staging of performers front/back and left/right of the soundstage.

A brickwall limiter with sidechain EQ and look ahead ability for pre-emptive adaptation to signal peaks, and so complete prevention of overshoot.

A harmonics generator to introduce controlled levels of second and third harmonic distortion, for simulation of valve sound characteristics.
The comprehensive standard specification also includes 256 memories, PC card storage and remote control via MIDI, RS232 or RS485 ports, with security lock-out.

AES/EBU digital input and output interfaces are available as an option.

Input and output balancing transformers are also available as an option.
The new dual channel processor from XTA continues with the tradition of innovation, quality and reliability.

In IRU of rack space this
Dynamics/EQ/Delay processor is designed for insertion into individual channels, groups, or as a master/finalising tool. Gone is the need to stock separate compressors and gates and limiters and EQ - its all in the one box!

True digital processing, utilising our current EQ and Limiter Algorithms, and featuring brand new algorithms in all other sections, SIDD offers unparalleled sonic quality, coupled with absolute accuracy and perfect stereo tracking.

Following in the footsteps of the DP226 family, all of this power is easy to access, control, and monitor. Individual access keys for main sections, together with
an enhanced display, and multiple rotary controls make using SIDD simple and intuitive. Storing and recalling your settings is easy, with a built-in library of presets, to use as they are or adjust to your liking. Three modes of use are included to aid setup in high pressure (live!) situations. Only what you need is displayed, reducing complexity and confusion.

Developed alongside SIDD is an all new software package which permits complete control of up to 32 processors on a single long distance RS485 connection. The first SIDD may be used as the RS232 (from the PC/Laptop) to RS485 converter, avoiding the need for external devices. Unlike most other PC software packages, SIDDs control software uses
a full quasi-duplex protocol. This means that any changes to any connected SIDD are immediately reflected on the PC, and any changes at the PC immediately update the SIDD under control.

The latest version of this software may share a COM port with AudioCore, allowing all the DP series devices to operate seamlessly on the same network.
